How Can You Carpool to Work in Your Industrial Park?
Every morning, cars carrying just one person pull into industrial parks everywhere. Carrotating.com is a free service that helps you find someone to share your commute with.
The Problem: One Car per Person
Every morning, the same scene plays out in the industrial park: car after car with just one person inside. Often, the person parking next to you has a commute much like yours.
So why don't you travel together? The answer is usually simple. You work for different companies and nobody has ever introduced you. You probably recognize more than one person in the parking lot by sight.
What Is Carrotating.com?
Carrotating.com is a free service designed so you don't have to drive to work every day. It connects you with people who work in your industrial park, your building or your neighborhood.
On this site, the company you work for doesn't matter. Your carpool partner might work in the unit across the street. What matters is that you share the same area and schedule.
How It Works, Step by Step
First, you create your profile, where you enter your addresses and your schedule.
Next, you have two options. You can post a trip with the starting point, destination, time and available seats. Or you can search for a trip that someone else has already posted.
Finally, you join the trip with a single click. You can also form a rotating group with other people.
Rotating Groups: The Key to the System
The rotating group is the core of the service. The same person doesn't always drive: group members take turns.
The site takes care of organizing who drives each week, so you don't have to coordinate the turns yourself.
Safety and Planning Tools
Users are verified by email and WhatsApp. There is also an option to travel only with women drivers.
To help you plan your trips, the platform includes a calendar. It also offers route alerts.
Other Services: Gas Stations, Garages and a Mobile App
Carrotating.com shows gas station prices, which are updated twice a day. It also lists garage parking spaces for rent.
There is an Android app that includes a traffic-jam avoidance driving feature. The iPhone version is coming soon.
